Framing the House, Weeks 9-11, October 7-25

The French doors are in…..

and the siding is going on……

October 24, exterior almost finished.  Soil not yet spread around the house.

October 26, the exterior is complete. View from road to south west of house.  The siding is all on and the deck is complete.  Now all the work is inside, and just in time as daytime highs have been in the 40s with lows in the upper 20s and low 30s.  Snow is forecast for tonight (Halloween) with temperatures dropping to about 17.  BRRRR!

View from due south.  Jim’s dozer work spread topsoil around the house.  Next spring, after letting winter’s frosts do their work, we will till the soil and plant it.

View from north east across septic field.  The deer have been using the area where the photographer is standing as a hiding spot….the grass is all trampled down with trails leading in and out.

View from west end of pond.  There has been no appreciable increase in depth and not much rain either.

View from road.

View of front of house straight on.

View from south west along road.

View from berm along south edge of pond.  Maura’s oats and grass mixture are getting established on the berm.
