Framing the House, Weeks 6, 7, and 8, September 9- October 4.

Framing progress slowed as Bob had pre-existing commitments to do a couple of roofing jobs.  By September 23rd we had a few more windows in on the ground level and some more foam board up.

The underside of the porch roof is sheathed with osb and ready for finishing…..

….with white aluminum soffit.

Brian, Maura, and I worked on running the polyethelene radiant heating tube between the floor joists.  It looked like strands of wayward spaghetti until…..

we fastened it up against the subfloor with aluminum plates and staples.

The septic tank and field were installed….

We started buying materials for the electric and plumbing and started running wire.  Here’s Brian stapling cable

The rest of the windows and front and back doors were put in.  Here’s the front door at the beginning of October.

We only need to get the French doors and garage doors in to keep the weather out now.

Bob and Ralph are working on metal trim around the porch and garage doors.

October 4, trim around garage door openings.

Two recent rains added quite a bit of water to the pond….. and the fall colors are just starting to show in a few trees and bushes.
