Framing the House, Week Four, September 3-6.

Roofing started the Friday before Labor Day weekend.  Shingles are stacked at the ridge and ready to go.

By the end of the day on Tuesday, the shingles are on the roof.

Wednesday, setting posts to support the porch roof.  The horizontal strips of wood with blue foamboard in between are ledgers to carry the trusses.

Thursday, the porch roof is nearly all sheathed.

The trusses are visible at the end of the porch before the sheathing goes on.

Left, porch truss attached to ledger.  Right, attached to post.

A beefed up bottom chord on the corner truss supports the hip trusses that run to the corner of the porch.

Friday, porch partially shingled, taken from the road.

From the southwest.

From the southeast.

And from a little further east.
