Framing the House, Week Two

Floor joists went up on Wednesday, August 21st.  Here’s the view looking at the garage door openings.  The pile in front is advantech floor sheathing, which is supposed to take a wetting and still lie flat and have good edges.

Floor joists from above looking toward the North.

And from below, looking up from Maura’s work room.

Floor joists from the shed roof.

The advantech sheathing is in place.  Here you can see the sheathing on top of the floor joists on top of the LVL beam.

Floor sheathed taken from shed roof.  Oops!  I’m one sheet short!  Had to fill in with osb in the corner because advantech could only be ordered in full lifts and we didn’t need 44 spare sheet left about after the house is finished.

View looking out southwest corner of house before 2nd floor walls are framed…..

And same  view with walls in place.

Looking out southeast corner.  Notice that it is raining and the advantech sheathing is being put to the test.

View from the shed roof with three walls framed.  The extra studs weren’t delivered in time to finish the fourth wall this week.  This is the end of week two, Friday, August 23rd.
